Rize Labs LLC · support@streammusicapp.com

This Privacy Policy explains how Rize Labs LLC (“Rize Labs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Stream mobile application and related services (collectively, “Stream” or the “Service”). By using Stream, you agree to the practices described here.

1 Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address. Account creation and authentication are handled through our backend provider, Supabase. Your password is managed by that authentication system; we do not store your password in readable form.
  • Preferences. During onboarding and while using the app, you select artists and genres. We store these selections to build and personalize your feed.
  • Communications. If you email us for support, we receive your message, email address, and anything else you choose to include.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage and discovery activity. To personalize your experience, we collect information about how you interact with the Service, such as previews you play or skip, songs and artists you engage with, searches, and feed interactions.
  • Device and technical information. We may collect your device type, operating system and version, app version, language settings, and diagnostic information such as crash or error logs. Your IP address is processed as part of ordinary network requests to our backend and third-party services.
  • On-device cache. Your feed is cached locally on your device (using AsyncStorage) so the app loads quickly and works smoothly. This cached data stays on your device and is removed when you clear it or uninstall the app.
Stream does not collect precise location, your contacts, your photos, or microphone or camera data. Music playback uses Apple’s iTunes Search API; we do not host or store audio files ourselves.

Payment information

If you subscribe to Stream+, your purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or receive your full payment card details. We may receive limited information from Apple confirming your subscription status.

2 How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account and authenticate you;
  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
  • Personalize your feed and music recommendations based on your preferences and activity;
  • Send you transactional emails, such as email confirmation and important account notices;
  • Provide customer support and respond to your requests;
  • Manage Stream+ subscriptions and confirm subscription status with Apple;
  • Monitor, secure, and improve the Service, including debugging and preventing abuse or fraud; and
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3 Third-party services

Stream relies on the following third-party providers to operate. Each processes information under its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review them:

  • Apple / iTunes Search API and Apple Music. We use Apple’s iTunes Search API to provide 30-second music previews and related metadata (song titles, artists, artwork). Stream also includes links out to Apple Music through Apple’s affiliate program; if you follow a link to Apple Music, your activity there is governed by Apple’s policies. See Apple’s Privacy Policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.
  • Supabase. Our backend provider, used for account creation, authentication, and database hosting. See supabase.com/privacy.
  • Resend. Our transactional email provider, used to deliver account confirmation and related emails. See resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.
  • Apple App Store. Processes Stream+ subscription payments and billing.

These providers may process information in the United States and other locations where they operate.

4 How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers. With the third-party providers described above, so they can perform services on our behalf (such as hosting, authentication, and email delivery).
  • Legal and safety. When we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to enforce our terms; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Rize Labs, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
  • With your direction or consent. When you ask us to share information or otherwise consent.

5 Retention & deletion

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Deleting your account. You can delete your account at any time from within the app. This triggers a process (via a Supabase edge function) that deletes your account and associated personal data from our active systems. Some information may persist temporarily in encrypted backups and is purged on our routine backup cycle, or may be retained where required by law.

On-device data. The feed cached on your device is removed when you clear the app’s data or uninstall the app.

6 Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit and reliance on established providers for authentication and data storage. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

7 Children’s privacy

Stream is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the Service or provide any information about yourself. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, please contact us at support@streammusicapp.com.
